The Story of “Rebuilding Together”

Our journey to 111 East Jefferson began all the way back in 2013. The foundation to the entrance addition at 250 Edgewood was already in. It looked like that was to be our church home for many, many years to come. The Lord had another idea in mind!

He brought us step by step to our new location which provided a secure children’s wing, a much larger parking lot and great visibility. He brought us to what was then called the Southeast YMCA!

Our relocation was difficult because during the Covid-19 pandemic everything was difficult. And we often thought and said that the only thing tougher than a church relocation is a church relocation during a worldwide pandemic!

But here we are in this beautiful space with an ever-increasing congregation. When the

YMCA had the vision of a place for the physical health of people and families of all

ages, the Lord had in His mind a place for the spiritual health of people and families of

all ages.

He knew about a lighthouse that was on dry land that didn’t have a spotlight directed to keep boats safe but a spotlight that directs people to Jesus.

So we moved into 111 East Jefferson in 2020 and have been here for six years. Over that time we have seen lives changed, families built up and so many baptisms. The Lord has brought a wonderful staff team that makes Edgewood an especially good fit for people with kids and teens and for people who love worship.

We have made many upgrades to this campus God has provided, but the time has come for a more concentrated effort to tackle some facility improvements and updates that are necessary for fruitful ministry in the future.

These are basic things like boilers, roof repairs, air handling units and a new parking lot. While they may not sound glamorous they are not an end in themselves. They are a means to the end of helping more and more people Begin the journey with Jesus, grow in relationship with Him and serving the world around us.
