Edgewood is committed to being part of the fight against human trafficking through our partnership with the Set Free Movement of the Free Methodist Church. Our local Set Free team works alongside Edgewood’s Missions Committee to address needs locally, nationally, and globally.
In the Rochester area, we focus on reducing key risk factors that make individuals vulnerable to trafficking—specifically food insecurity and homelessness. We respond through our Pantry ministry and by partnering with trusted agencies already serving in these areas.

The Pantry
The Set Free Pantry is our in-house ministry of providing food where it’s needed most. The poverty rate for children in the city of Rochester is the highest in the nation. Poverty and food insecurity are strong risk factors for trafficking. All food donated to our pantry will be given to organizations that provide food to low-income families.

The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight or the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.
— Luke 4:18-19 NIV
